Logo update

Logo update

Last year's version 2.0 was the most important milestone in the entire GLYPHICONS existence and updated logo was part of it. Yet, because of all the fuss around this version and the lack of time and my attention caused it didn't get as much attention as it deserved. Now, when everything settled down, it's been a great time to re-evaluate its appearance in the context of new icons and the entire website.

Aside minor changes and realignments, GLYPHICONS logo remained almost always the same as it was in its initial version in 2010. There were some minor changes, here and there, but the red square background always persisted throughout all that time, as one of its main characteristic features.

Evolution of GLYPHICONS logo
As the project has evolved over the years, so it has its logo. While it hasn't changed a lot, there is a noticeable difference between the initial version and the latest version today.

These days, I have updated this logo again, to reflect both: more rounded and friendlier style of icons introduced with version 2.0 and also the continuous work on the project during the years, which includes all updates, improvements and other related work, that is not and will never be completely finished. Equally importantly, this change will help to build a more cohesive visual identity for the whole GLYPHICONS brand in the future.

That’s about all my friends; you should already see the updated logo not only here, but also elsewhere in the wild. If not, please try to clear your browser cache or maybe just reloading a page will be enough. It’s possible though, that despite all my efforts I forgot some place, so if you find any place with the original logo, please let me know at my email: glyphicons@gmail.com ;)

Thank you, I’ll get back to work now, next in line for an update should be the Halflings set!
